Entre os dias 21 e 28 de agosto, ocorreu mais uma Semana Estadual dos Direitos da Pessoa com Deficiência. Esta foi a 23ª edição do evento, voltado sobretudo a promoção da consciência da sociedade dos direitos humanos de sujeitos, que historicamente, são vulnerabilizados e invisibilizados pelas políticas públicas.
A semana teve, como um dos pontos mais fortes, a realização da Exposição de Tecnologia Assistiva e Inclusão (ExpoTAI), no Centro Humanístico Vida, em Porto Alegre. Falar em tecnologia é tratar de pesquisa, de dados e indicadores que nos ajudem a compreender um pouco deste tema e como ele se insere no âmbito do Rio Grande do Sul. É, portanto, tempo de reflexão e ação sobre os direitos e, sobretudo, as medidas concretas que são necessárias para a garantia da acessibilidade.
Alguns números nos instigam a percepção sobre este grupo em nosso Estado. Conforme os dados do IBGE, este segmento representa 2.549.691 pessoas no RS, correspondendo a 23,84% da população. Destas, 336.420 moram em Porto Alegre, sendo que 65.479 estão no centro da capital. Outros dados: 295 são servidores públicos federais, 121 estão presas, 113.516 recebem o Benefício de Prestação Continuada (BPC), 20.974 estão estudando na rede estadual de ensino, 29.005 estão empregadas com carteira assinada, 2.270 possuem o Passe Livre Interestadual e 199 mil, o Passe Livre Estadual.
O que há em comum em todas elas? O direito a dignidade humana e a viver em igualdade de oportunidade com as demais pessoas. Todas, independente de onde vivem, como se relacionam e o que fazem, tem o direito inalienável a acessibilidade como forma de viver com autonomia e segurança em todos os espaços sociais. Esta é a mensagem que devemos disseminar em nossos discursos e práticas. Um mundo mais justo para as pessoas com deficiência é certamente, melhor para todos nós. Vamos fazer juntos?

Entre los días 21 y 28 de agosto, ocurrió otra Semana Estadual de los Derechos de la persona con discapacidad. Esta fue la 23ª edición del evento, orientado sobre todo a la promoción de la conciencia de la sociedad de los derechos humanos de sujetos, que históricamente, son vulnerables e invisibilizados por las políticas públicas.
La semana tuvo, como uno de los puntos más fuertes, la realización de la Exposición de Tecnología Asistiva e Inclusión (ExpoTAI), en el Centro Humanístico Vida, en Porto Alegre. Hablar en tecnología es tratar de investigación, de datos e indicadores que nos ayuden a comprender un poco de este tema y cómo se inserta en el ámbito de Rio Grande do Sul. Es, por lo tanto, tiempo de reflexión y acción sobre los derechos y, sobre todo, las medidas concretas que son necesarias para garantizar la accesibilidad.
